The Wonders of God's Nature - The Beauty of Nature is being fulfilled

It seems every season brings to my mind a special memory from long ago.  The end of April and the beginning of May takes me back to 1949.  I gave birth to my daughter at the end of April.  Back in those days, a mother and her newborn child had to remain in the hospital for two weeks.  So when we were released to go home, it was May.  While I was gone a beautiful transformation had taken place in nature to welcome us home.  Green grass, green tree leaves and yellow forsythia bushes had come back to life.  The outside sounds of lawn mower engines working and rototillers digging up the soil for vegetable gardens seemed to lull our new little one to sleep.

Now in this present time, Spring is almost over.  Nature is about to move into it’s next season of summer.  Our God is a God of balance and order.  We know we can depend on Him to bring in each new season at just the right time, year after year.  He should be able to depend on us to live out our faith and trust in Him to bring honor and glory to His name.

James 2: 17,18 – “Thus, also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.  But someone will say “you have faith and I have works.”  Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Psalm 37:3 – “Trust in the Lord and do good.”

Proverbs 3: 5, 6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean no on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Who is better qualified to direct our lives than the Creator of heaven and earth and everyone and every thing that exists.  No One else is qualified, not even ourselves.  Praise the Lord that he is always there for us.  Let us always be there for Him as an example to others  of  His great care and love for us.

The Wonders of God's Nature - Sunny, Rainy, Clear, or Stormy Days

In 1930, when I was a young child, some mothers disciplined their children by threatening them with punishment from the weather, specifically a thunder and lightening  electrical storm.  If we had been misbehaving and/or disobedient, we were terror stricken.  We had been told by our moms that God would strike us down by lightening.  This threat quickly transformed us from normal child behavior to a facade of angelic behavior.  This fear of storms stayed with me until I became a mother.  I was determined that my little girl was not going to be afraid of storms.  Whenever a storm was brewing, I would pick her up and we would both look out the window.  When we heard a rumble of thunder, she would giggle and say, "Look!  here comes the pretty light".  It became a fun game for us and somewhere along the way, I personally forgot to be afraid and began to enjoy the weather.  I also came to the realization that God does not want us to be fearful at all of anything or anybody.

Psalm 34: vs. 4 "I sought the Lord and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

If you know someone who seems to be living in a state of fear or anxiety, feel free to share this devotional with them.  Also pray this above scripture for them and ask God to free them from their fears.  I know this works.  I've been there, done this. Now, as a mature Christian, I know the weather is a gift from God.

The following Scriptures confirm this:

Matthew 5: vs. 45 - " That you may be sons of your father in heaven for
He made His sun rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on
the just and on the unjust."

Hebrews 6: vs. 7 - "For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for  those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God."

That of the most worth in my life today is my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Second is my close relationship with my loving family and my church family.  Last, but not least, is my great concern for those I know and love who have not set aside a place for Jesus in their lives.  I pray for their salvation daily.

The Wonders of God's Nature - Day and Night

I have always been amazed at the accuracy of the sun rising each morning and setting each evening. However, God does not keep us guessing. He reveals the answers to our questions in Scripture.

Genesis l:16-18 – “Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day,and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”

Who made it happen? When did it happen? Why did it happen? When we come to the realization that everything on earth is God Given, we can accept the fact that “THERE IS A GOD’'! He is the God who created us, loves us and wants to provide for us everything we need on this earth to survive. Night and day exchanging places every day is definitely one of God’s Great Wonders.

Even today, our daily activities are influenced by day and night. Our employment and the schooling of our children is usually performed in the day time.

Psalm 104:19,20 – “He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down. You make darkness and it is night.”

Psalm 104:23 – “Man goes out to his work And to his labor until the evening.”

Isaiah 45:7 – “I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.”

Some think day and night just happens. Not so, it is one of God’s provisions. Sadly, some are living in spiritual darkness. I pray they will truly see God’s Hand in this and will thank Him for His Great Blessings to all of His creation.

The Wonders of God's Nature will Soon SPRING FORTH!

We are about to experience the transformation of the bare, winter weary trees.  Soon beautiful spring green leaves will appear on their branches.  We have nothing to do with that.  It is a gift from God and pleasant for our eyes to behold.  Even the grass will recover from the freezer burn of this past long, cold winter.  Soon, it too will become green again.  Bushes and plants will awake from their long winter hibernation and soon their leaves and flowers will emerge for us to enjoy.  Some unbelievers attribute this miracle to “Mother Nature” – whoever she is?  I believe our praise and credit should be given to  “God Our Father”.  In the gospel of Luke 19: 39, 40, the Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke his disciples for praising Him.  His answer was that if they kept silent, the stones would immediately cry out.

Who can duplicate these wonders?  NO ONE!  What we see is proof of His existence.  Yes, there is a God! Modern technology will never succeed in duplicating the power of Our God.  Scientists can talk about global warming and other ways to control the patterns of God’s nature.  Talk is cheap but results are ZERO.  Look up and look around you.

Psalm 104 describes God’s close connection with and purpose for each facet of nature.  The following verses cover the grass, trees, flowers and vegetation for gardens.

Psalm 104:14, 15, 16 – “He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth, And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.  The trees of the Lord are full of sap. The cedars of Lebanon which He planted.”

We all realize that  our living a godly life and reaping all of it’s benefits is a powerful witness to those who do not know God. There is also much in nature that proves how much God loves and cares for us.  It is also there for all to see.
